Travelers Hotel

This is a 13 x 17 quickly executed plein air painting of the Travelers Hotel in Denison, TX.  It is just east of downtown and the MKT railroad tracks.  The painting was done during the SWS paint out in Denison in November & will be exhibited in March, 2012, at the Mary Karam Gallery in Denison.

South on Tennessee

This 15 x 22 image is of a residence in McKinney, Texas. The painting has been accepted in the 36th Annual Western Federation Exhibition. Juror was Dale Laitinen and the exhibition will be May 6 - June 5, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Balcony View

This 22 x 30 image is from my travels in Budapest and has been accepted in the Houston Watercolor Society 34th International Exhibition. Juror was John Salminen and the exhibition will be At WAS-H Gallery in Houston March 19 - April 15.

Reverence

This 22 x 30 image from a church in Prague has been accepted into the Missouri Watercolor National 11th Annual. Jerry Stitt served as juror & the exhibition will be May 1 - May 22 at the National Churchill Museum in Fulton, Missouri.

Rowlett Creek

This is an 11 x 15 image of Rowlett Creek in Oak Point Park near my home. Leon and I often walk in the park and this painting was done in my studio one afternoon after our walk.

Rowlett Creek II

Last week when we had a warm December day, my painting partner, PK, and I painted on location in Oak Point Park. This 13 x 17 image of the creek was done quickly on site.

“Booked Up” image size 22 x 30

This painting has been accepted in the 47th Annual Southwestern Watercolor Society Exhibition.    The SWS paint out trip to Archer City, TX in October of last year provided inspiration.  As you may know, the author Larry McMurtry has several book stores located around the square in Archer City and each is aptly named Booked Up #1, Booked Up #2, Booked Up #3, etc.  My painting will be exhibited August 17 – September 25 at Pfamily Arts, 4017 Preston Rt., #544 at Lake Side Market in Plano.  The reception will be September 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The painting received the third place award in the exhibition.
